Pastor's Bio

Meet Pastor William Handy

Pastor William E. Handy Sr. was destined to be used by God. Strong, steadfast, dedicated, loving, and humble—these are just a few words that describe this man of God. Yet, he would simply declare that he is a servant of the Most High God.

Born in New Orleans on November 15, 1968, Pastor Handy is the second of three children born to Ollie Jean Handy and the late Landry Clarence Handy Sr. Educated in the Orleans Parish Public School System, he graduated from Alfred Lawless Sr. High School in 1986. He later furthered his studies at Sidney Collier Institute, earning a certificate in mechanical engineering.

On July 9, 1994, Pastor Handy was united in marriage to Tangi Monique Conerly, whom he lovingly refers to as his “ministry” and forerunner. Their union was blessed with three children: Jauleesa, Willie Jr., and Christian.

Pastor Handy has been employed at Patton's Seacoast Electric, and Emerson. In his youth, he was baptized at King Solomon Baptist Church, where he served as a Junior Deacon. In October 1994, he was ordained as a Deacon at King Solomon Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. George Guidry.

On December 31, 1998, Pastor Handy and his family were led by God to become members of Corrine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. John Bailey Jr. Wasting no time, he joined the Deacon Ministry, serving first as Co-Chairman, then later as Chairman. Soon after, Pastor Handy was called to preach the gospel and accepted his calling to ministry. On the fourth Sunday of January 2001, he received his license to preach.

Pastor Handy has attended Darryl S. Brister Bible College and continues his higher learning in ministry. He has also served as a leader at Beacon Light Full Gospel of Houston, Texas, under Bishop Darryl S. Brister, and New Home Ministries of Houston, under Bishop R.C. Blakes, where he served as an Elder in both ministries.

The road for Pastor Handy has not been easy, but he is determined to run with patience in this race as he continues to look to Jesus—the Author and Finisher of his faith (Hebrews 12:2).
